Inferno (Review)

infernointernational

Inferno is directed by Ron Howard and it is staring Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones and it is the third movie in the Robert Langdon series which is adapted from the Dan Brown popular book novels.

The story follows Robert Langdon played by Tom Hanks who wakes up in the beginning of the film in a hospital not knowing where he is because he has amnesia, a young female doctor named Sienna Brooks played by Felicity Jones is attending to him and suddenly a woman dressed as a police officer walks into the hospital and tries to kill him which begins a series of explaining from Robert and Sienna for us to understand what is going on so what is happening is a billionaire mad man made a virus to “thin out the crowd” he is fearing for the future of the planet and human race so he took it upon himself to kill half of the human race but as he did this he left clues in artwork and churches that leads to the location of the virus and now our heroes must run from the World Health Organization and other threaten to look at paintings and statues and while they figure it out the people who follow them also figure it out. if you are already bored with this review I really don’t blame you because Inferno is awful.

The thing that bothered me the most with this story was the Twist at the third act, I am not a big fan of Third Act twists but also some of my favorite movies has that twist like The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar, but those movies spend some time building to that twist and when it happened they progressed the story to a conclusion that played well together but Inferno’s Twist is so dumb and so stupid it is basically telling you that everything we explained to you until this moment was a trick so here is our Explaining part two, it is really really dumb I couldn’t find a single redeeming quality of the awful story. To make matters worse the whole plan was to throw a bomb in a pool of water to break a bag full of goo, that is basically it I am sorry to spoil it for you but I am only sparing you two hours.

Also nothing from the performance is worth noting, Tom Hanks who is a fantastic actor looks so bored in this film at times I feel like he just wanted to look at the camera and go like “Really?”, same goes for Felicity Jones who is just trying to get it over with, I feel sorry for both of them for being in that film I really hope they were both well paid for it. and Ron Howard who is a great director is also not putting in any effort it is just a “Lets get it over with situation” I am really surprised he even bothered with it.

Verdict : For the love of everything that is holly don’t make a sequel to Inferno it didn’t make enough money at the box office to justify a sequel just leave Tom Hanks alone. (2.0/10.0)
