2015 New Year’s Gaming resolutions (Aka the only new year’s resolution that I will probably stick to)

2014 — being one of the worst years of my life is coming to an end, when I say one of the worst years I really mean it now if I could sum it up in one sentence : 2014 can take 2006 and 2010 to dinner bang them both and never call them again bad, it really was horrible which is making me hopeful toward 2015 which sounds like a great year ahead (for gaming at least), for some reason I always like to make lists of things that I want to do the year ahead, I don’t think of them as “Resolutions” per se more like a goals list which I am hopeful to achieve in the year to come (things like make a billion dollar by sitting and farting will always remain in that list, Keep the dream alive!) but I noticed that I always make a few gaming goals for myself so I have decided to make it into a separate list and hope to achieve them while posting about them here, and the goals are :

  • #5 Path of Exile, Diablo 3 and other online action RPGspath-of-exile-03-700x393
I have spend countless hours playing D3 and PoE in 2014 and for the most part I really did enjoy my time doing so but what I didn’t do is play them on weekly bases now going in 2015 I think I should set aside a few hours a week and try to keep up with Seasons and Events that occur in these games which I am really looking forward to, and I think for the starters I should start new characters and focus on a new build to play in a completely different way, yeah that sounds wonderful!
  • #4 Expand the Horizon and Love the Souls series
    BloodborneSpot1
Let me Love you…Why are you not letting me Love you?, as I mentioned in my anticipated for post recently I am not very into the Souls series but I have always liked expanding my horizons and expanding into uncharted territories so while not technically a Souls game but same developer same premise and looks faster and less dodge based so I am looking forward to it and hopefully after this one I will also pick up the Dark Souls 2 Remastered edition and give that one some love as well, again! Please let me love you!
  • #3 A Storm is rising and I have to be a hero of that storm
    HoTS-Combat
I like MOBAs but there was a time just like my relationship with Souls I didn’t like MOBAs until I gave them some time and attention and before I knew it I was playing LoL and Dota 2 everyday, I haven’t played them in a while though but that is because I want to shift my focus toward Heroes, when the game comes out I am planning to play a match every night and try to enjoy it, and if I could put together a group of friends who want to play as well then that will be wonderful so I am very much looking forward to it.
  • #2 Don’t try to get friends into games, make friends while playing that game
Screen Shot 2014-10-13 at 10.06.07 PM
this is a personal point so I will try to be brief, for years I have tried to get my friends into games and I rarely had any success with it because they are just not into games the way I am but this year it worked with Destiny and my god what disaster that was, due to my unemployment and lack of social life I was able to play Destiny quite often but by the end of it the game started to feel like a group assignment and not a game at all therefore I think I am done trying to spread the religion and try to keep it to myself and play alone or with people I met in game more.
  • #1 Pull up a chair by the Hearth!
    1907642_708351382558116_1769046378249175620_n
it shouldn’t come at a surprise that the game I spend most of my time on in 2014 is going to be the game I spend most of my time on in 2015, to the most part I think Hearthstone could be the highlight of my year, I am planning to climb the ladder more in 2015 and maybe work my way to the high ranks and therefore more time and real organized training is required.

So here you go those are my list of gaming goals in 2015, lets hope next year is a good going to be a good one!

The interview (Review)

1217_interview

In — this day and age most media focus so much on controversy they lose the cause in the process, this movie cause a huge amount of shenanigans and therefore everyone wanted to watch it and for the most part the reaction to The Interview seems to be negative and most of the reviews use “Overhyped” as an excuse, well I won’t do the same because quite frankly I was hyped for this movie the day they made this on the set anyway so without further adieu here is what I think of The Interview :

James Franco and Seth Rogen are awesome together because they are in fact friends off screen and they have a very interesting chemistry like you do believe these two are actual friends and that is something rare in film, obviously Franco is a more accomplished actor and he gets to show off his chops too with the very well written jokes that Seth and Evan wrote for the movie, The Interview is also directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and they do a fine job at it, maybe not the very best but it is for the most serviceable and does not make you feel like the movie is lacking in direction, the rest of the cast also do a great job Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park and Diana Bang (I swear those are real names) do a good job.

as for the rest of the flick they did a good job making a fictional North Korea based on the common beliefs perhaps it is not the way we saw it in the movie no one really knows because aside from what some escapes say about what really going on in there North Korea is indeed the most dangerous and unpredictable country in the world and there is nothing we can do to honeydick them!

final thoughts : The Interview is one of my favorite comedies in the recent memory, it is a shame what happened to it and it may not reach to a lot of audience but it will go down in history as a cult classic and I can see that some of the phrases created for this movie like “Honeydicking” and “Haters gonna hate, Ainters gonna aint” will live on among the people for a long time.

Most anticipated games of 2015

Lets — make one thing very clear 2014 was not the best year for gaming, most of the games end up disappointing (Watch_Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Destiny, The Evil Within) and so many more got delayed (The Witcher 3, Evolve, Batman Arkham Knight, The Order 1886), but 2015 looks very promising and here is a list of games that I am looking forward to, but before that I want to tell you that there are few games that I am not sure about but I am anticipating them either way so lets talk about those first :

battleborn
Battleborn
I loved the Borderlands games and I really like Gearbox so even though this game look a little wacko I will still give it a chance and I still don’t know what kind of a game it is to be honest, is it a free to play moba shooter or a $60 game? I don’t know because they have not said much about it, so let us wait and see what it will be like before I make any judgment on it.

bloodborne_2
Bloodborne
I want to love this game, I see people madly in love with Dark Souls and I want to be one of them but I never was and I really want to be! I hate that I am not….it is just…..too much dodging I hate dodging!!! but Bloodborne looks faster and really pretty and it looks like focuses more on Co-Op gameplay which is great so I can play with my friends and maybe that is going to make the game more interesting to me, please have a demo!

1H1
H1Z1
this game looks like the next Sony We-Also-Have-It game -wait let me explain- while I have so many Sony devices and I play many Sony games I do feel like the company never tries to do anything new, most of their games is a beautiful cinematic QTE-happy whored with trailers game that if god forbid sells well they will milk the living shit out of it (7 God of War games in 8 years it is almost annual) but lets not jump on the Sony hate train, H1Z1 is a DayZ wanna be with a little MMORPG in there I would like to play it if they will allow me to do that for free, and that will be all.

Now! to the real list, the following games are those that already has my money and time and love and cuddles : batman_arkham_knight1
Batman : Arkham City
The Rocksteady Batman games is without a doubt as close as you get to be Batman they are awesome and the 3rd and final Arkham game looks to be one of the most beautiful games ever made and it looks massive and can’t wait to play it!

The-Division
The Division
if there is a god he will not allow Ubisoft to screw this game, it looks like what I always wanted to be, a deep RPG with an amazing gameplay and MMO-ish elements (that is what I wanted Destiny to be) so right now all bets are on The Division to deliver this experience, very excited!

overwatch
Overwatch
Nobody does online multiplayer like Blizzard, after almost 300+ hours spend in Blizzard games in 2014 (Hearthstone, Diablo 3) I am very very looking forward to their new IP in 17 years, Overwatch seems like a very awesome game that will allow you to learn how to master a character and own with it, now please send me a beta code!

heroes
Heroes of The Storm
More Blizz! I have been waiting for this game since you guys called it Blizzard Dota and it was a small StarCraft 2 map, now can I please have my beta key? I want it!

niuvofvjqgunpvsnkon3
Persona 5
I love Persona series, in my humble opinion it is the best current jRPG I mean lets face it Final Fantasy sucked recently and Tales is just not appealing to me so Persona works really well, I have played it all from Persona 2 and above and each with more that a 150 hours spend in happily, I will get the Playstation 4 and here is a finger cross if they made a PSVita version which I really think they should I will get that also

EverQuest_Next_Landmark_13841953653975
Everquest Next
Now every bad thing I said about Sony earlier fades when we talk about Everquest, the first game was an ambitious and huge effort from SOE to make and made it to be the first fully 3D MMORPG, with Titan being cancelled and no one knows when Blade and Soul and Black Desert is going to come out Everquest Next is up for the biggest MMORPG of next year, on top of that the game looks great and seems like a deep huge MMORPG that I will spend hours and hours in.

majoram
The Legend of Zelda : Majora’s Mask 3D
Ahhh Nintendo! I love you so much and you give me so much love in 2015, first of all on 3DS you are bringing the much loved Majora’s Mask, which is the ultimate Non-Zelda Zelda game, it is really different than any other Zelda game ever made and if you have not had the pleasure of playing it on N64 well next year you have no excuses! #OperationMoonFall

the-legend-of-zelda-wii-u
Zelda U
So I don’t have a Wii U (Like most of you) and I am getting one next year for this game, so far with no title but it looks like the evolution Zelda games really needed and with this entry it shall have, very excited for it and I don’t want to say much more because we barely have any information about it anyway.

DerekBrown_NoMansSky_Poster-13
No Man’s Sky
Definitely my most anticipated game of 2015, the team at HelloGames is trying something new and that excites me, something that has not being done before and I just want it so bad! it could end up being a very bad game but right now and based on what I have seen so far I cannot wait to play this game!

and there you have it, my most anticipated games of the year, before I go here is a rundown of the games that I will play but not necessarily losing any sleep over them :

  • The Order 1886
  • The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
  • Assassin’s Creed Victory
  • Rainbow Six Siege

  • Dead Island 2
